CREATABLES AND STAMPS
I came about the idea for this month layouts by accident. I was doing some cleaning in my craft room sorting out things that I just didn’t use and things I figured I didn’t need anymore. My collection of stamps was one of the things that seldom get used so I thought of listing some of them on eBay. Hmmmm … if I use them, I can justify keeping them. That was all it took to talk myself into keeping my stamps and forcing me to think creatively. I had great fun mixing my creatables and stamps. It was just the inspiration I needed to jump start my creative block. Although I didn’t get very far in cleaning out my craft room, I succeeded in getting farther in my scrapbooks.
I want to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday Season. Take time to enjoy the things that are most important in your life. Take time to make treasured memories with your family and friends.
See You in 2008

HEAD FOR THE HILLS
Supplies:
Family Time
Creatable by Kate Merkley
Alphablock alphabet stamps by Stampin’ UP
Instructions:
The cute camping graphic from Family Time Creatable was perfect for this camping vacation layout.
Print the graphic onto white cardstock, cut out, and make it a fun element for your layout by turning it into a tag.
I incorporated my alphabet stamps for the title. I gave it a little extra pop by using an upside down exclamation point for the letter “i” with a button dotting the eye to match the button on the tag.
BEAR COUNTRY USA
Supplies:
Nature Walk Creatable by Teresa Kogut
Crisscross Background Stamp by Hero Arts
Instructions:
The hiking bear from Nature Walk Creatable looks adorable strolling through this layout.
title was created with George font using a Cricut. (I mimicked the design from the actual billboard at the entrance to the park.)
The cream colored squares along the border are stamped with the background stamp using white ink to give it more interest and dimension.
JUNIOR NATURALIST
Supplies:
Lodge Lake Fall
Creatable by Andrea Tachiera
Clear Skies Ahead Stamp by Club Scrap
Book Plate Stamp by Club Scrap
Printer’s Lowercase Alphabet Stamps by Hero Arts
Instructions:
I couldn’t resist this beautiful butterfly from Lodge Lake Fall Creatable.
I printed it onto white cardstock and cut out.
I then applied a layer of my new favorite product, Diamond Glaze. Although you can’t tell in the picture, the glaze gives it a thick and shiny coat that really pops.
Borders and embellishments were created with the Club Scrap stamps and I used the alphabet stamps to create a title stamped onto twill ribbon.
The fiber paper on the layout was created by my kids as one of the projects to earn their Junior Naturalist Badge.
F is for FISHING
Supplies:
Mischief
Creatable by Kristi Dailey
Perfect Plaid Stamp Set by Stampin’ UP
Instructions:
The letter “F” from the Mischief Scrapbable was the perfect addition to balance out this square layout.
I created the background with scraps of complimentary cardstock and matted the photos to match.
The border across the top was created with green grosgrain ribbon and the Perfect Plaid stamp using blue ink on gray cardstock to give it a grosgrain look
