WHAT’S GOING ON IN YOUR WORLD?
With spring in the air, and snow banks still melting in the yard, I thought I’d take this time to get you caught up on what’s going on in my world.

We had an old fashion winter in our neck of the woods. When you looked out the windows all you could see were snow banks and icicles. The house roof had to be shoveled off many times and I got stuck on our road … only once though. I find the snow hanging on tree branches and piling in the yard to be beautiful. But it is April now, so I’m okay with it going away … so go away.

Our son Andy is finishing up making his maple syrup. He collected the sap late this year because of the snow and cold. He has his little sister empting his pails for him when he is off to college and he takes care of the rest on the weekends when he is home. I’ll be making a lot of waffles and biscuits since we always enjoy the fresh syrup.

Prairie turned the magical 16 and has her driver’s license now. Go ahead; take this time to say a little prayer for me. She is a very good driver but that doesn’t mean I won’t worry. I’m going to miss driving her and her friends around. I felt it kept me in touch with her little world. With gas prices as high as they are, I’m sure I will still be needed when her gas tank is empty as well as her purse.

Hubby and I keep plugging along doing what we do … working and playing. We are trying to plan a vacation for the summer but we’re running into conflicts with our schedules versus’ the kids schedules. Soon it will be just he and I on vacation together along with the dogs. Oh my gosh …. What will that be like? As my mother would say, nothing remains the same. Time marches on. Time waits for no one.

So here is to treasuring the present and looking forward to the future.

Have a great month!
Julie

MOUNT RUSHMORE
Supplies:
  • World Traveler Creatable by Jeff Goodsell
  • Cardstock, navy, red, and white
  • Patterned paper, Venice by Me & My Big Ideas
  • 5/8” natural twill ribbon
