A NEW YEAR
Welcome to 2007. When I began scrapbooking 10 years ago, I never dreamed it would turn into such big business. Styles have changed over the years, but the purpose hasn’t. Just this past week my son turned 18. As I said earlier, I’ve been scrapbooking for 10 years. I’ve started and completed many albums in that time, but one I haven’t finished is my son’s albums. According to what I have completed in his albums, the year is 1998. My daughter turns 15 soon and according to her albums, the year is 2001.

The year 2007 will be a journey of getting caught up on the years not completed in my children’s albums. Not only do I need to get the pictures in the albums, but I need to get the stories that go with the occasion out of my head and onto paper before they’re out of my head forever.

So join me as I use all the wonderful Creatables, Scrapables, and Cardables each month to get my children’s albums updated and on track before new milestones begin to pile up.

Happy New Year and Happy Scrapping
Julie
ALL ABOUT ME
Supplies:
  • Summer Fishing Creatable by Beth Logan
  • Cardstock, sage green, white
  • Gold Vellum
  • Twill Ribbon
Instructions:
  1. Copy and paste the BGD Terra Cotta graphic to a workspace. I use Microsoft Word. Size to 11”x11”. This is larger than your workspace, but it will allow you to fill the page as much as possible. Print onto white cardstock and trim white edges. Adhere to the bottom of the sage green cardstock.
  2. Copy and paste the CNR Pinecones graphic to a workspace and size to 5”x5”. Print onto white cardstock and cut out. Adhere to the corners of the layout.
  3. Adhere the twill ribbon across the top of the plaid graphic. Adhere picture(s) to layout.
  4. To create title, print desired wording onto vellum. Trim to needed size and cut out a window using an exacto knife for the picture to show through.
  5. The word ME was created using a Provo Craft Cricut, George font. Lettering templates or computer generated fonts work well also.

  3. Cut out all the graphics and arrange onto layout, see example. Embellish using the eyelets, ribbon, paper clip and such. This is the last page of a scrapbook so I didn’t use any pictures. It’s a montage of great graphics so you can’t go wrong no matter how you arrange them.
