Lunchpail Card Album

Resolution or goal, what should I make for 2006? The dictionary says that a resolution is a determination or solution and a goal is an aim or purpose. I think I’ll need to make both with the list of things that I want to accomplish this year. My resolution is to focus on projects and tasks that I already have started and my goal is to finish them. That seems simple enough, and even seems realistic. The problem lies in not starting new projects before I finish what I already have started.

One project that I want to get under control is organizing closets and workspaces. Don’t get me wrong, I know where everything is and I’m not stepping over piles on the floor, it’s just that I have too much of everything. I recently bought wooden hangers to replace all of the plastic ones in my closet. That little change was enough to inspire me to clean the shelves in the closet and then that led me to a cupboard, then that … you get the picture.

On a smaller organizing scale, I did start a new project to take care of finishing my card storage problem. Somehow the old show box covered in wrapping paper loses its charm after making this Lunchpail Card Album. When I saw this blank metal pail, it was begging me to use my scrapbooking supplies and Creatables on it. I now can cross that task off my list and call it an accomplishment.

Have a Happy and Healthy New Year,

Julie

Project 1: Lunchpail
Supplies:
  • Harvest Blessings Creatable by Lori Gardner
  • With All My Heart Scrapable by Lori Gardner
  • Lunchpail Album by Basicgrey
  • Leaves at Breakfast paper by Imagination Project
  • Studio K Green Distressed Wood Flat Paper by K & Company
  • Small Harvest Harlequin White Paper by Sarah Milne
  • Cream and olive colored cardstock
  • Chipboard Monograms by Li’l Davis Designs
  • Assorted Ribbons by Scenic Route Paper Co., Offray, Lasting Impressions,
  • Pumpkin Colored brads by Lasting Impressions
  • Slide mount, included with Lunchpail
  • 3/8” alphabet sticker
  • 1 ¼” circle punch
  • Sea glass
  • Zyron (optional)
Instructions:
  1. Copy and paste the 01 Flower from Harvest Blessings Creatable to a workspace. Copy and paste the Fall Stripe BGD. From the With All My Heart Scrapable copy and paste the letters R and S. Size 2 flowers to 1 ½” and the letters to approximately 1”.Size the BGD to approximately 3”. Print onto cream cardstock. Cut out the flowers and trim the letters to create blocks. Place the slide mount to the striped background and trim with an exacto knife. Mat the letters onto olive cardstock. Place the alphabet letter sticker A in the center of a flower.
  2. Trim a sheet of the Leaves at Breakfast paper to 5”. In the center of one of the sheets punch a half circle to create a notch for the clasp. Create a sticker of this paper using a Zyron or other laminator or adhere using Modge Podge. Wrap around the lunchpail and press firmly. Create a 1 ¼” stripe with the Green Distressed Wood paper and adhere about 1” from the Leaves Paper. Using the Chipboard Monogram letters, a flower and the letter squares adhere the word CARDS over the top of the green stripe.
  3. Trim a piece of the Harlequin paper to include 6 diamonds. Mat onto olive cardstock. Adhere to the lower right corner.
  4. Attach a ribbon to the slide mount and attach using a brad. Determine the length of ribbon need to go around the pail and attach other end to slide mount using a brad. Place onto lunchpail to cover the centers of the harlequin diamonds. Adhere other flower and attach sea glass to the center of the slide mount.
  5. Add a piece of ribbon trim around the lib of the pail. Cut 9” stripes of assorted ribbon and tie onto metal clips on the lunchpails handle.
  6. Decorate monthly dividers and place in lunchpail.
