Greeting Cards
Last month was a busy month for me when it came to birthdays and anniversary. Although I always know it’s busy, I’m never prepared and I’m buying cards the day before. I don’t think I need to tell you that buying cards can be rather pricey. So this month I made a resolution to get creative and make my own cards. Creatables are perfect for card making because of the range of graphics and the ease in sizing the graphic. Once I chose the graphic and the design for the card, I printed and cut everything multiple times. The time that it takes to make more than one was very minimal and you end up with a larger collection of personalized greeting cards.
I hope the cards I’ve created are enough to inspire you to make a resolution to begin making personalized cards. What a wonderful gift this would make.

Project 1: Flamingo
Supplies:
  • Sun and Sand Creatable by Laurie Furnell
  • Cardstock, aqua, pink, white
  • Aqua eyelets by Making Memories
  • Jute
Instructions:
  1. Cut aqua cardstock to fit into desired envelope and fold in half. Copy and paste the flamingo to a workspace, I use Microsoft Word, size to fit on card.
  2. Print flamingo onto white cardstock, trim and mat onto aqua cardstock. Attach eyelets onto each corner.
  3. If you desire to add a greeting to the front of the card, do this before cutting out the pink cardstock. Within Microsoft Word, create a text box the size of the front of the card. Create another text box for the text. Arrange the greeting text box to fit the layout of the card.
  4. Print and then trim ¼” smaller then the front of the card. Place 2 eyelets on the side of the pink cardstock and add a jute tie. Adhere to the front of the card and adhere flamingo.
