MERRY MONTH OF MAY
Nice weather is upon us and the birds are singing a happy tune. Our yard is beginning to take on different shades of green and is in need of some attention. In one month our son will be graduating from high school and we are having a celebration party for him which means all the yard projects that we have been putting off, have to get done. That’s okay, I work best under pressure. Since we’ll have all the projects completed in one month, we will have the rest of the summer to enjoy the fruits of our labor.
As I diligently continue to complete a scrapbook to display from our sons party I continue to find amazing graphics among all of my Creatables. In fact, in the process of searching for a graphic to use in his scrapbook, I found some that would work perfect in my Sister scrapbook and I swayed off target a bit and did a few layouts for that book.
I guess procrastination and distraction are a few of my character traits or flaws. No matter what makes up your character, take the time to enjoy what you have accomplished or take a little time to do something you’ve always wanted to do.
Happy Scrapping,
Julie
BACKWOODS BOY
Supplies:
Summer At The Cabin
Creatable by Debbie Crabtree
Burnt orange crackled background paper, source unknown
Wood-look cardstock, source unknown
Brown ink pad
Dark Red Embroidery Floss
White cardstock
Jewelry Hemp by The Beadery
Stick from the front yard
Instructions:
Copy and paste the FR Berries graphic to a workspace, I use Microsoft Word. Size to 8” x 9 ½”. Copy and paste the BGD Rock graphic and set as background for FR Berries. Add and text box and type desired journaling. I inserted the words to a song that fit the layout. Print onto white cardstock and cut out. For added dimension, I randomly added some French knot berries to the frame using the embroidery thread. Cut 3 lengths of hemp about 15” long. Tie the stick to the center of the hemp. Punch holes in the top corners of the frame and thread hemp through the back and knot in the front placing the stick at the center to represent a hanger.
Copy and paste the FR Animals to the workspace and size to 2”. Copy and paste the BGD Rock graphic and set as background for FR Animals. Print onto white cardstock and trim to 2 1/8” squares. Mat onto the wood-look cardstock. Punch small holes at the corners of the graphics and tread hemp through to create a frame.
With the brown ink pad, distress the edges of the burnt orange crackled background paper. Arrange elements and adhere.

Jewelry Hemp by The Beadery
1 ½” circle punch
Instructions:
Copy and paste the ST World Map and ST Mount Rushmore graphics to a workspace, I use Microsoft Word. Size the map to 2” wide and copy and paste to have 3 maps. Size the Mount Rushmore graphic to 2 ¼”. Insert a 2 ¼” circle with no fill and place over the Mount Rushmore graphic. Print onto the stone color cardstock. Trim map graphic into rectangles and trim the Rushmore graphic into a circle and mat onto dark brown cardstock. Punch a small hole at the top of the circle and tie on a length of hemp.
Prepare background by adding a 3” wide strip of dark brown cardstock to the left edge of the background paper. To create year title, print desired numbers onto the stone cardstock and punch out with a 1 ½” punch making sure the numbers are to the left of center. Cut number circles in half and adhere to the right edge of the dark brown strip.

Classic Vegetables
Creatable by Rebecca Carter
Cardstock, brown tones
Bronze eyelets by Making Memories
Instructions:
Copy and paste the corner graphic to a workspace, I use Microsoft Word. Size to 1 ¾” and copy to have 5 graphics total. Print onto a light brown cardstock and cut out.
The inspiration for this layout was the brochure from the restaurant. I mimicked the mat on the photos to compliment the rounded corners of the brochure and created a journaling circle to mimic the graphic in the middle of the brochure. For the journaling circle I used BGD Brown graphic from the Creatable.
Add a 1” strip of brown cardstock to the bottom of the layout attached with eyelets and place the graphics along the strip and adhere. Attach eyelets to the journaling circle for added dimension.
