Catching Up…..Will You Be Able to Do It?

One of the ways to catch up on some of those mounds of photos, is to create special simple albums with one theme. You can create templates and plan out the book in advance and then add the photos.

The great thing about computer scrapbooking is that you can still tweak and change things as you add your photos. You can change your mind and your photos with no problems or wasted photos.

For this month I want to show you the first in a series of simple albums. I have not added the photos to these pages because I want you to add yours. These pages are to give you ideas and give those creative juices a nudge.

The album presented here can also be modified easily and used with other Creatables to create various types of albums…….from ABC for baby to college bound senior.

Project 1: Create an Album showcasing the women in your life (From a Tribute to Women).

I chose the dainty flowered background and have only made subtle changes in each page to create a simple but feminine album in honor of the women whose lives helped to shape mine.

1. Create a new page and add the flowered background.
2. Add a rectangle and stretch it to fill the page. Using the eyedropper tool, pull a bit of the blue to use as the color for the bottom layer.
3. You can soften the flower design by using the blue as a transparent overlay or you can use the blue to mat the print design.
4. By adding mat boxes for photos and text you can continue your theme throughout this album…….perhaps for you mom for Mother’s Day.
5. Try different arrangements of the photos and the journaling boxes, adjust the size and add or delete embellishments and you have a simple and fast pretty album!

Well, there you have it—an easy and fast way to create an album for someone special!

Your assignments if you should decide to accept them:

1. Create a whole album and create templates to use for another.
2. Modify the suggested album with other Creatables to fit baby, toddler, and teen.
3. Go out of your way to show kindness.
4. Pray for our nation and do a page about your city, state or town.
5. Hug someone.
