I’m Not Making Any Resolutions
I ‘m not making any New Year’s resolutions-I still have plenty unused ones from last year! This year went so fast that I hardly had time to finish writing them down, much less time to put them into practice.
I’m also not making any excuses this year for not making any resolutions and no apologies for the things I don’t get done. We all have so much to do and so much to remember that I have decided to just do what I can do and forget and not fret about the rest. I will strive to do my best and appreciate others for their best.
The wonderful thing about a new year is that resolutions or not, it gives us a chance for a fresh start. Let’s start off our new year -2007-can you imagine that- with a bit of fun with Creatables, Scrapables, Cardables, imagination and our PC!
What if you were to create a page each month to use for your 2008 calendar next year? You can enjoy the page as artwork this month and put it aside to become part of your 2008 calendar for next year. Or create a calendar for 2007 to begin using right away.
A page can be as simple or complex as you wish. A calendar can be one page per month or one page for the entire year. Just use your software program and your photos or use photos, clipart and templates.
Project 1: JANUARY Calendar Page
Create a simple but fun page with
Kiddie Cats Winter
ClipART
by Janie Dawson
:
Since I am using Microsoft Digital Image Suite 2006, I put in disc 2 and choose a template for the month of January 2007.
I choose my snowflake clipart and added it as the background.
I added the top header from
Kiddie Cats Winter
to complete.
I added frames for you to insert photos of family down the side.
Project 2: Year 2007
Choose a one-year calendar template and add a photo from any season you want. This was a photo that I took at a fence at Orlando’s Disney. I created the paint and paint cans to add my artwork to the fence.
I used the art stroke and draw some paint streaks down the page around the paint cans.
Project 3 and 3a: Special Week in the Life of Birthday Girl
Choose the week before the person’s birthday or the week of their birthday and do that week’s calendar for them.
I love the simplicity and clarity of Janie Dawson’s
Birthday Celebrations
ClipART.
Create a little booklet for them by creating a compatible cover and joining pages with brads or have it comb bound.
Add some little verses or coupons and add a few more pages.
Project 4: Now for your assignment if you should decide to accept it:
Go outside of your comfort level and create something. I did the PC doodle below as an example of something you might try. If you haven’t tried creating with your PC and mouse, why don’t give it a try. I did this tonight after watching my daughter leave for home after her visit for the holidays.
My wish for you is that this holiday bring blessings to you and your family as you gives back blessings to others around you. Take care of one another and find joy in the season.
