What do You Want for Christmas
Do you have a list? Do you have a secret wish for something special for Christmas? Are you plotting and planning something special for someone in your family? Do you have more fun wrapping gifts than opening them? Do you love the hustle and bustle of shopping and being in crowds or do you prefer to make your gifts or even shop online?

Whatever it is that is special to you about Christmas, I hope you enjoy it this year and have friends and family to share it with and to enjoy it with you.

Christmas will be here and gone before we know it. I hope that by now my crafting friends have their presents planned, created and wrapped. But just in case, let’s talk Christmas, after Christmas, and New Years gifts.

Kids love anything that is personalized, and with today’s technology, they can help you create gifts for aunts, uncles, grandparents and friends using the family computer. Try creating storybooks for the younger ones. You can have them bound at an office supply store, or some of us have found it helpful to buy a comb binding or spiral binding system. If you want to get really fancy, there are companies that will hard bind your books or systems that allow you to do that yourselves.

For the youngest, how about a favorite Hugware design ironed on a baby item. Just choose the design, print it out on the family computer and iron it on. For the teens, you can choose something from their favorite movie and create a mouse pad or a tee shirt.

For Dad, how about creating a calendar for his office with all of your favorite photos from this year? And of course, a neat album of the year’s photos will be great for the grandparents.

What if you started next year’s gift calendar today with a scrapbook page created from each month? This would be a way for the recipient to see your entire year with photos and pages that actually document your year. If you start in December of this year, you will be able to have some Dec photos and still be able to mail it early enough for Christmas.

There are so many wonderful Christmas Creatables available. From A Christmas Sampler, Traditional Christmas, Nativity Advent Calendar, Christmas Snowman, Heart Warmed Holiday, Nativity, Christmas Past, Santa’s Express, Christmastime, Christmas Creations, Spirit of Christmas, Santa’s Helpers, Cute Christmas Critters, Holly Jolly Christmas, Kimberly’s Christmas, Victorian Christmas, Santa, Christmas Traditions, Santas for Everyone, Santa’s Lil' Elfers 1 and 2, Christmas Countdown and Santa’s Lil’ Elfters the Scrapable. The list goes on and on. There is something for everyone.

Let’s start our time together with a lovely card for our friends.
Project 1: Christmas Card
Using Jeff Goodsell's Elegant Christmas:
  1. Create new page with blue background paper.
  2. Add circle from angel pattern and duplicate circle.
  3. Fill circle with cold and use it as mat for photo.
  4. Add bevel to mat.
  5. Cut out circle with each angel, copy, paste and bevel.
  6. Add text in favorite font and bevel the text.
  7. Use a favorite verse for the inside of card.
* If your program doesn’t have a bevel feature, you can search online and find a free plug-in to use.
