Happy Mother’s Day!

Topper
As I pondered the art for this month’s article, the first Creatable I pulled up was “A Mother’s Joy” by Laurie Furnell. It is part of the HugClub membership art, but will be available to non members after three months of exclusivity for club members. (Makes me glad I’m a member!) Now, in case you haven’t caught on, I adore Laurie’s work. I can always find something in her “shop” that fits the project I’m doing. All of the artists are so talented and work so diligently to provide us with a variety of subjects and styles!
And for those of you who are not content to use only other artists’ work on your pages, we will have another simple creating with DIP lesson. When you step out and begin to create your own additional elements and papers, you will never run short of work to do and new items to do it with!

Last month I mentioned some plug-ins that work well with Digital Image Pro and if you haven’t downloaded them and experimented with them, I suggest that you consider it. They will bring you to a whole new level of fun!

Project 1: To Grandmother from Grandson
  1. Create new page and add image from A Mother’s Joy.
  2. Using paintbrush in Digital Image Pro, add brush strokes to the white side of 8.5 x 11 landscape page. You can also add them over bits of the artwork.
  3. Use color picker to match the colors in the clipart.
  4. Add poetry.
*This poem is from my soon to be released collection about mothers
Project 1

Project 2: A card for Mom
  1. Create a new page and use your printer’s instructions to add image in the correct position to make a double fold card.
Your mom would love to have your own heartfelt words written to her. Ponder in your heart the things that make her so special and write her a letter or poem.
Project 2
Project 3: I Asked God for a Poem Mother
  1. Created new 12 x 12 page and add image.
  2. Add tribute verse.
Project 3

Project 4: Gift Tag
  1. Pull tag onto screen and add your verse.
Project 4
Project 5: Simple Hatbox instructions

Project 5
Project 6: Caitlyn and Hopper by Sharon Hammond

A long time member of our message board and dear friend, Sharon, (gamma2five) created this page using Laurie Furnell’s Honey Bunny Creatable. She forgot which creatable the print is from, but you can find several yellow prints in various creatables that will work fine.
  1. Created new 12 x 12 page and add image.
  2. Use color picker to match yellow and insert rectangle filled with yellow color.
  3. Stretch rectangle to fill page.
  4. Add mats and corners cut from your choice of patterned paper.
  5. Add photos and add photo corners to them.
  6. Add bevel to mat to make it pop.
Project 6

This is a day that will never come again: you have family, friends, and relatives in your life that make up a support group that changes almost daily. Enjoy them while you have them and treat each day in your life and the special day it is.

Your assignments, should you decide to accept them:
  1. If you still have a mom, give her lots of love and attention.
  2. If you are a mom, be thankful for the precious gift of family.
  3. Enjoy your special day.
  4. Hug someone.
  5. Meet me back here next month!
Hugs,
Thena
