Lettering Delights Supreme FAQ
Where do I get the LD Supreme Image Browser?
to download the free version of the LD Supreme Image Browser. Download and install the program. Then you should be able to install your Lettering Delights Alphabets.
Why does the browser not display properly?
Because the browser window is made of a picture, it can't be sized larger or smaller, and was created using specific desktop settings. If your desktop does not match those settings, the program may not run correctly.
To remedy this, you'll need to use small fonts for your desktop icons. Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel. Double click the Display icon, click the "settings" tab, then the "advanced" button. Under the "General" tab, for font size, make sure small fonts are selected. This should fix the problem. Please let me know if you need more help.
How do I change the size of the color alphabets or images?
To move, size or color Alphabets within the lettering program, do the following: Select an image, or create a word phrase and add it to the clipboard. Go to the Print page and click the clipboard to add the item. Once the image is on the page, click on it once to activate the border tabs (little black boxes). Click and hold your mouse button on one of the corner tags and drag to the desired size.To move an image, click and hold your mouse button on the image and drag to the desired location on the print page.
How do I create a text box (LD Supreme not LD Supreme 2)?
On the print page, when you click on the Text box button, a new toolbar comes up. However, it can be somewhat hidden. It appears right under the original toolbar with the save, open and other buttons. To get a text box, after you click on the button, move to a blank space on your print page and then click and hold the left mouse button and then drag down to the right. Let go and a shaded area should appear on the screen. That is the text box (the shaded area will not print). You can now type in the text. You can use the Text box toolbar to alter the text size, etc.
What is the difference between alphabets and fonts?
A TrueType font is a typeface that is installed onto your system. TrueType signifies that they appear the same way they print. They are only available in black and white. Fonts are used on various programs (such as your word processor or text editor) throughout your system. Our Lettering Delights Alphabets are graphics (not TrueType fonts). That is why they appear in full color. You could insert them into a graphics editor one letter at a time. However, to make them easier to use, we have created an
Image Browser
with which you can create unique titles and headings. The Image Browser has the tools to manipulate and alter the Alphabets.
If I'm receiving errors or having problems running the LD Supreme program, what should I do?
Please complete each of the four steps below to help troubleshoot this issue.
1. Restart the computer first. In many cases, restarting after installation will fix any issues that arise when running it for the first time.
2. Download and install the LD Supreme update file. This file has new programming that will allow it to run better on your computer. To download the update, first connect to the Internet, start the LD Supreme program, then click on Help(?)-Select View The LD Supreme About Information-Click the green checkmark-Select "Check for an update"-Then click the green checkmark.
3. If you have the Lettering program on CD and the update does not fix the issue, you will need to run the program from the CD to help narrow the issue down. To do this insert the CD into the drive, cancel the Setup if it automatically starts, then click on Start-Run-Browse, select your CD drive from the Look In menu, select the file called LD Supreme and click Open, then OK. If the program works properly now, go on to step 4. If not, please let us know.
4. If the program runs properly from the CD, you will need to download and install a small file that will fix your LD system file. Go to http://www.letteringdelights.com/updates/lddll.exe and download this file to your Desktop. Once the download is done, find it on your Desktop and double click on it to run the utility.
What if I'm having problems printing?
First download and install the LD Supreme update file. This file has new programming that will allow it to run better on your computer. To download the update, first connect to the Internet, start the LD Supreme program, then click on Help(?)-Select View The LD Supreme About Information-Click the green checkmark-Select "Check for an update"-Then click the green checkmark.
Once the update is installed, see if the printing problem was solved. If it wasn't, try the following suggestions:
1. On the print page, click the Print button in the bottom-right corner.
2. Click the "Printer Troubleshooting" button when the print window opens (it's the one with the red-yellow-green lights on it).
3. Follow the guidelines given there.
Hints: "Slow Down Print Job" still prints the same results, but reduces the speed in which your computer sends a print job to the printer. Be sure to try that option. Also, the changes you make in the Print Troubleshooting window are not permanent and will reset each time you close the LD Supreme program. Please make a note of which settings work best for you so you can apply them again.
