Spooky Halloween

I hope everyone had as happy a Halloween as I did. My costume was so fun and I pretty much gorged myself on candy! I actually felt sick the day after.

Of course yesterday was the end of daylight savings. We finally have that hour that was so cruelly taken from us in spring returned to us. This one is the clock change I like (because it gives me another hour of sleep—for free!), and I changed all my clocks first thing. Here’s to another hour!

- Fabric: Scraps

- Macrame Cord (11" for each bag)

- Cardstock

- Birthday Candle

- Penny

- Band-Aid

- Rubber Band

- Pencil Eraser

HugWare You Could Use:

Instructions:

Step 1. I made a small bag by taking two small pieces of fabric (each piece measuring 5 3/4" x 3 1/4)). Make a 1/4 " seam across the top of each piece of fabric. Then sew the two pieces of fabric together printed sides facing each other and make a 1/4" seam around the remainder of the three sides. The first seam you made across the top of the fabric will be the opening of the bag, so don't sew these together. Once you have sewed around the fabric, clip the excess threads and turn it inside out. The "right" side of your fabric should now be on the outside and you should have a small bag measuring 5 1/2 x 3.
Step 2. You can use any publishing program compatible with pcHugware. Open up to a blank page and insert a square.

Top Tip:

I have learned that a cloth or canvas knitting needle case works great for carrying and storing paintbrushes. Also when your paintbrushes start to loose their stiffness, bring them back to life with a shot of hairspry.

What I Have Learned:

When making candy bouquets I have learned that if I cover the skewers that I use with straws or wrap in ribbon it really helps hide the over all look of the skewers and really makes a difference in appearance.

My name is Chris and I live in Mechanicsville, VA which is near Richmond. I work full-time as an administrative assistant for my church and produce many of our children's publications as well as our monthly calendar and weekly bulletins. I'm also on the board of the PTA at my daughter's school and am a volunteer with her Girl Scout troop. I'm an avid paper and digital scrapbooker too and I use pcCrafter graphics for everything!

I discovered pcCrafter back in 2006 when I was looking for some cute frog graphics for my daughter's Kindergarten teacher. One of my first purchases was Laurie Furnell's Frogs creatable which I used to make gifts and cards for her. While adjusting to nightly homework and having a child in school, I pretty much forgot all about pcCrafter (and being creative!) until February of 2007 when I was desperately trying to find some cute graphics that I had seen decorating someone's website. I wanted to use them for our church's Vacation Bible School (VBS) program. The theme was "Be Transformed", a study of the Beattitudes and I wanted to use the transformation of a caterpillar to a butterfly as the logo. I loved the little caterpillar, the munched leaf, and the cocoon that I saw on that website and thought it would be perfect for our preschool program. The owner of the website informed me that the graphics were from Kate Merkley's Butterflies and Flowers creatable set available at pcCrafter. It wasn't until I went to the site to find it that I remembered, hey, I know this place!

Since then, I have become a HugClub member and look forward to my monthly treats! I make note cards as gifts for our church volunteers and they all love them. I love that there are so many Christian collections available on pcCrafter. I use my graphics to create the post cards that we send to visitors to our church and to the children to remind them that they are loved - by Jesus and by their church family. I'm always asked where I found those wonderful graphics that I use on different things. I'm hoping to make cards and sell them at our school's Spring Festival too.

My wish list is long and ever-growing since all the great artists at pcCrafter keep creating new, must-have collections. I highly recommend pcCrafter to anyone who crafts, whether it be with your computer, scissors & paste, for yourself, or for others. The quality is top-notch and the community is positive and encouraging.
