A NEW YEAR
One year ago, I wrote about taking you along with me on my journey as I got caught up on my scrapbooks. I enjoyed looking back as I worked on pages from 1998. It ended up being very therapeutic as my son went off to college and I could reminisce. Well … a year has past and I’m now into 1999. I must have taken an awful lot of pictures. Along the way, I got side tracked and started new albums or worked on other specialty albums. So if you’ll bear with me, I plan to continue the albums in progress.

In the spirit of my continued New Years resolution … which is, finish what you have started, I share this with you from the Message Board posted by Pixiegem.

"The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you have started and have never finished." So, I looked around my house to see all the things I started and hadn't finished, and before leaving the house this morning, I finished off a bottle of Merlot, a bottle of White Zinfandel, a bottle of Bailey's Irish Cream, a bottle of Kahlua, a package of Oreos, the remainder of my old Prozac prescription, the rest of the cheesecake, some Doritos and a box of chocolates. You have no idea how good I feel!!

Happy New Year,
Julie
CHUCKWAGON SUPPER
Supplies:
  • Debbie Mumm's Giddy Up Creatable by Debbie Mumm
  • Cardstock, white, black
  • Background paper by ColorMates, Light Creamy Cocoa
  • Scrapworks Silver Bars
  • Jewelry hemp by The Beadery
  • Cricut font cartridge, Stamped, or lettering template
Instructions:
  1. Copy and paste to a workspace, I use Microsoft Word, the BGD Bandana. Size to 6”x6” and print onto white cardstock. Trim the square and cut point to point to create a triangle. Copy and paste the Western Wagon Wheel and Buckaroo Brands. Size wagon wheel to the font size you will be using. (I used 1 ½”) Copy and paste the brands to have 2 lined up side by side running the length of the paper. Print onto white cardstock. Using an exacto knife cut out the white from in between the wagon wheel spokes before trimming the wheel from the cardstock. Cut the brands to have 2 single lengths of brands.
  2. Mat the bandana onto black cardstock creating a border on the 2 shortest sides. Mat the length of the brands onto black cardstock.
  3. Adhere the brands and bandana along the left side of the layout onto the Light Creamy Cocoa cardstock with the brand ¾” from the edge and the bandana lined up from the top corner. If the length of the brand doesn’t fit, cut into 2 sections and tuck under the bandana.
  4. Create a title using a Cricut of lettering templates and using the wagon wheel as the letter “O”.
  5. Mat photos with white and black cardstock. Attach the silver bars along the left edge of the photos and tie a length of jewelry hemp to them. Adhere to layout.
