SCRAPPIN’ WITH SCRAPABLES
Better known as "Lasagna" on the Message Board
Simplify; sim·pli·fied, sim·pli·fy·ing, sim·pli·fies, To make simple or simpler, as: To reduce in complexity or extent. To reduce to fundamental parts. To make easier to understand. Using Scrapbables will help you create fun and easy layouts and simplify your life.

With choices ranging from All American to Wildflowers and everything in between you are sure to find a match for your treasured photos. Digital scrapbooking is all the rage. Scrapables work great for that medium but using Scrapables in the traditional scrapbooking form of cutting and pasting with scissors and glue is just as fun and functional. They allow you to keep it simple or add embellishments for a personal touch.

My favorite part of the Scrapbables is how it simplified my life by making it easier and quicker to create a great looking layout. I hope I’ve inspired you to get out the scissors and glue and get creative with Scrapables.

Layout 1: BSG
Supplies Used:
  • Tween Boys Scrapable by Cheryl Welch
  • Cardstock, olive, navy, dark red, white
Instructions:
  1. Open up a workspace; I used Microsoft Word. Copy and paste Background01 and the desired letters for a title. Size graphics to fit onto your layout and print them onto white cardstock. Cut out letters and create a large circle from the background.
  2. Copy and paste the BDR Dots, BDR Stripes, BDR Star, and Button Star to your workspace. Size borders to 8½” to fit the length of the white cardstock. Size button to 2”; copy and paste to have 3 buttons. Print onto white cardstock and cut out.
  3. Prepare your layout background by trimming 4” from the olive cardstock. Cut a 4” strip of navy. Lineup the olive and navy cardstock and tape together from the back. (Use reverse for 2nd page of layout.)
  4. Mat photos onto dark red cardstock.
  5. Arrange graphics and photos onto layout. (See example.) Adhere when you’ve achieved the desired look. To create the BDR Star border behind the title lettering, cut the border so that it isn’t behind the lettering. This will stretch your 8” into 12”.
