Seasons Greetings
Seasonings Greetings, Happy Hanukah, Holiday Wishes, Merry Christmas, Feliz Navidad, Happy Kwanzaa … Whatever your salutation, make it happy, merry and bright.
Although I vow to start preparing for the holidays earlier every year, it never happens. I don’t dare start the baking too early; I would be snacking on cookies ‘til they were gone. I don’t like to buy all my gifts to early either. I might change my mind or the kids may change their minds. One thing that I do is create a list. I have a little notebook in my purse that has names and lists that are added to, scratched off of, and revised constantly. This system works well for me. It helps me keep track of money spent, receipts and is also a great reference to use from previous years and for years to come.
I will be starting my celebrating with our local production of The Nutcracker in which my daughter is performing. This tradition is the kick off for me that gets me in the spirit of the season. This year I will also be going to see The Christmas Carol. There are so many things to do and ways to celebrate, be sure to take it all in and enjoy the warm feelings around you.
May all your wishes come true.

Instructions:
Copy and paste the Nutcracker to a work space, I use Microsoft Word. Size to 6” tall and copy and paste to print 2 Nutcrackers. Print onto cream cardstock. Cut out one leaving a slight border. Cut out the shape of the Nutcracker on the second one and adhere using Pop Dots. Highlight areas of the Nutcracker with the glitter.
Cut two strips of complimentary paper in varying widths and zig zag sew to the left side of the layout. Zigzag a length of ribbon next to the strips. Adhere Nutcracker embellishment onto stripped border.
Mat photos using the navy and cream cardstock. Leave a wide mat border on the main picture and staple an assortment of ribbons to the edge. Arrange photos and adhere to layout.
Create titles and punch out using the circle punch and adhere to layout.
Project 2: Holiday Hound
Supplies:
Kimberly’s Kennel
Creatable by Kimberly Montgomery
12x12 background paper, brown (source unknown)
Cardstock, assorted neutral tans, black, white
Fonts: Cottilion, Baveuse, downloaded from internet
Instructions:
Copy and paste the dog bone border to a workspace, I use Microsoft Word. In landscape format size the border to 10” long and copy to have 2 borders. Print onto white cardstock and cut out. Cut the paw prints off at the end of each border and mat onto black cardstock. Overlap the 2 borders to create one 12” strip and place 1” from the bottom of the layout.
In landscape format create the title. I created shapes the size of my photo and paw prints and placed them on my workspace so I knew where to place my title. Once you have the title placed, delete the shapes and print onto 2 different sheets of cardstock. Tear the cardstock so each sheet contains one word from the title. Adhere to each other and place onto layout 1” from the top and even with the right side.
Mat photo with black cardstock and adhere to layout along with the matted paw prints.

Copy and paste the star alphabet letters to spell FAMILY and 2005. Copy and paste Border 01 and the Cardinal. Size to fit onto the layout and print onto white cardstock.
Randomly cut rectangles from the background paper and arrange onto the top of the layout. Attach by sewing around the edges of each rectangle. Cut the border strip and attach to the bottom of the layout.
Cut a 1” strip of green cardstock and adhere ¾” above the border strip. Cut out the FAMILY letter stars and punch holes in the top. Loosely thread jewelry hemp through the stars. Adhere to the bottom of the layout overlapping the green strip.
