All You Need Is Love
When I think of the month of February, I think of love, hearts, and Valentines. It’s also the month when cabin fever sets in with our long Wisconsin winters. This is the month when I start de-junking a years worth of accumulation and reflect back on what’s really important in my life.
For this months layouts I dug back to the past as well as pictures from the present. When picking out the pictures, I was thinking of things I treasure and love, in honor of “The Month of Love.” Along with the obvious of your spouse, document the less obvious things such as items or activities you love.
Here’s a lil’ peek into what I keep close to my heart. What is it your treasure? ALL YOU NEED IS LOVE.

Project 1: Wedding Reception
Supplies:
Folkart Sampler
Creatable by Laurie Furnell
Green plaid paper by Rocky Mountain Scrapbook Co.
Cardstock, deep red, deep green, sage, white
Sage ribbon by Offray
Sewing machine (optional)
Instructions:
Copy and paste the bird topper from the creatable to a workspace, I use Microsoft Word. Size the topper to 3” wide. Copy and paste the one created to make a 2 nd topper. Print onto white cardstock and cut out. Cut the second topper to only include one bird and the heart.
Cut a border of the red cardstock to 3” and adhere to the bottom of the plaid paper by stitching a line 1” from the top using a sewing machine. (You could also tape the border down making sure to leave a 1” space at the top to tuck your pictures in.) Add a tied ribbon to the border 1” from the bottom. Adhere the bird topper over the stitching on the right side about 1” from the edge.
Create a title and print onto sage cardstock. I used Credit Valley font and sized it to fit a 1¼” x 5” piece of cardstock leaving a 1½” margin on the left side to place the single bird and heart. Mat onto a 2” x 5” piece of red cardstock and stitch in the center of the red borders.
Mat photos as desired, arrange all elements onto layout and adhere.
Project 2: Sweet Love
Supplies:
Ladybug Love
Creatable by Lori Gardner
Cardstock, royal blue, red, white
Vellum
Vellum tape by 3M
Red eyelets by Making Memories
Red Gingham ribbon by Stampin’ Up
Instructions:
Copy and paste the Three Hearts, SWAK, and Lips graphics to a workspace, I use Microsoft Works. Create a 1 ½” box by inserting an Autoshape to use as a sizing guide. Size the Lips to fit into the square, copy and paste 2 more Lips. Size the Hearts and the SWAK to fit into the square together, create another Heart and SWAK square. Arrange the graphics and delete the square you used as a guide.
To create the title insert an Autoshape and create a 2” x 6” oval. Add a title within this shape. I used Scriptina and Action IS: The Sequel font and changed the font colors to blue and red. Create any journaling you would like to add to the layout. Print the graphics, title and journaling onto white cardstock. Cut the graphics into 1 ½” squares and mat onto red cardstock. Cut out the oval just inside the line so that you don’t have any border when completely cut out.
Copy and paste the Ladybug BGD in black and white format and size to 8 x 10 ½”. Copy and paste again and place slightly off sides from the original copy. This will give you more ladybugs. Print onto vellum and trim edges.
Place the vellum background onto the royal blue cardstock. Arrange the title, journaling, and photo onto the vellum along with a Lips square. Adhere vellum with vellum tape or by taping it where your elements will hide it. Attach the title using red eyelets. I saved the tag that was with one of the Kisses and added it as a border down the side of the vellum.
Create the Lips and SWAK border by attaching a length of red gingham ribbon down the side. Tie a bow at the top and adhere the remaining squares down the center of the ribbon.
Project 3: Favorite Things
Supplies:
Love Birds
Creatable by Carolee Jones
Cardstock, 2 shades of pink, brown, white
Vellum
Pink ribbon by Offray
Silver eyelets by Making Memories.
Square punch by Creative Memories
Coluzzle tag template and swivel knife
Instructions:
Copy and paste the Striped01 BGD to a workspace, I use Microsoft Works. Size to 8”x10 ½” and print onto white cardstock. Copy and paste the Live Love Laugh graphic and size to 2”. Create a THINGS title. I used Curlz MT font and changed the color to brown. Print onto vellum the graphic and title onto vellum. Cut out the graphic as a tag using the Coluzzle tag template and swivel knife. Attach a small striped square at the top of the tag using a silver eyelet. Tie on a pink ribbon.
Place a 4” brown border at the bottom of the pink cardstock being used for the layout. Trim the white border from the striped background and cut into random widths. Trim the pieces to 4” in height and adhere over brown border randomly.
Size the word FAVORITE using Curlz MT font changed to brown to fit in a ¾” square. Add spaces between the letters to allow room for punching out each letter into a square. Print onto contrasting pink cardstock and punch out. Mat onto 1” punched out brown squares.
Mat photo onto pink and brown cardstock. Arrange all the elements onto the layout.
Place contrasting pieces of pink behind the vellum elements. Adhere all elements and attach the THINGS title using silver eyelets.
Create a Venn diagram by sizing 2, 7” circles overlapping in the middle. Add a list of your favorite’s things, his favorite things and then the things you share as favorites in the middle where the circles overlap. Print onto vellum and attach to a second layout to match the 1 st one.
Project 4: Love of the Game
Supplies:
Football
Creatable by Linda Oberhansley
Behind the Scenes Creatable by Carolee Jones.
Cardstock, red, grey, white
Red eyelet by Making Memories
Tile’s Play mosaic stickers by Sticko
Instructions:
Copy and paste the Red Plaid BGD from the Behind the Scenes creatable to a workspace. I use Microsoft Works. Size to 8” x 10 ½” and print onto white cardstock. Trim the white edges and tear 1” from center. Tear 1” off the wider side so that you have white edges showing on both sides where it is torn. Adhere to the layout ¾” from the bottom and the straight edges up against the sides of the red cardstock.
Copy and paste the football graphic from the Football Creatable. Size to 1 ½” in height. Add Scrapcolor Me 5 alphabet from Lettering Delights to create the word LOVE, with the football representing the O. (I colored my letters in Paint and made the outline grey.) Type the words OF THE next to LOVE. Create to word GAME using Varsity font. (I colored my letters in Paint and made the outline grey.) Print onto white cardstock. Cut out the LOVE OF THE title and mat onto grey cardstock with the left edge torn. Cut out the word GAME and create a tag. Mat the tag onto grey cardstock with the bottom torn and the top edges bend over the angles on the tag. Attach a red eyelet. Place 3 small mosaic stickers onto each title. Adhere to layout as shown.
Mat photos with white and grey. Embellish with elements of your choice.
