BRINGING BACK MEMORIES
Using this monthly article and Creatables to help me get caught up on my Scrapbooks has proved to be very therapeutic. I was putting pressure on myself to get back on track and start working on my son’s scrapbooks to have them completed before he graduates this spring. As I began sorting through his photos I was reminded of all the great memories that go along with them. I will continue scrapbooking them, but I’m slowing down and taking the time to reminisce and cherish those times. I am no longer in a hurry to complete his books before graduation. Next fall when he leaves for college I will need these photos and memories as part of my therapy as my first born heads off to college.

Thanks for letting me share this little piece of me.
Julie
BACKYARD
Supplies:
  • My Backyard Creatable by Carol Halm
  • Background paper by The Paper Patch
  • Cardstock, white, terra cotta
  • Copper eyelets by Making Memories
  • 3/8” grosgrain ginger ribbon by Offray
Instructions:
  1. Open up a workspace, I use Microsoft Word. Copy and paste the BDR Gardening and Lawn Chairs graphics. Set the page setting to landscape and size paper to 8 ½”x 12”. Size the BDR to the width of the page and the Lawn Chairs to 10 ¼” wide. Create a text box the width of the BDR and add text. I used Cheryl’s Luv Bug font in size 39 and wrote, around my yard repeatedly to fill in the entire width. Eliminate the white background and border of the text box and copy and paste to have the wording above and below the BDR. Trim a piece of 12”x12” white cardstock to 8 ½” and print out graphics. Trim BDR to use as header on layout and cut out around the lawn chairs. Cut the lawn chair graphic in half. (Save the right half for the opposite page layout.)
  2. Prepare the layout by adhering a 9 ½” square of the terra cotta cardstock to the upper left side of the layout leaving a ½” border of the background paper showing.
  3. Adhere the BDR heading to the top of the layout and add a length of ribbon to the top and bottom attached using copper eyelets.
  4. Mat photos on white cardstock and arrange on space incorporating the lawn chair graphic and any desired journaling.
