A Few Gentle Moments…
All of us need to have some sweet memories to place in our scrapbooks to show not only those vintage photos but happy times that are special and deserve a more sentimental touch.
It surprises me, nay, I should say shocks me to see my favorite toys, books and even kitchen items I grew up with in the 50’s now showcased in antique stores and being considered vintage or even antique! Hey! This gal has a few good years yet, I hope!
We will look at some of the ways to use basic photos and templates to design a variety of pages.
Project 1: Using the Basket from Gentle Moments
  1. Open template and take white out of frame.
  2. Insert photo.
*You can use the magic wand to remove the white from the frame or you can use the edge finder to go around the inside of the frame and then hit delete. Then you slide your photo underneath to become layer one. Simple, huh?

Project 2: To step it up a notch or two to create a 12 x 12 page...
  1. Create a larger background and fill with color.
  2. Insert the basic template with added photo.
  3. Add journaling or poetry and any extra embellishment.
  4. I added a daisy from Digital Image Pro.
  5. I used photo stamp and change the flower to black and white.
  6. I added a bit of color to the center and then used effects to add a lumpy texture.

Project 3: Using Frame and Basket Template
  1. Open template from Gentle Moments and take out the white with magic wand or by using edge finder. Encircle white and then delete.
  2. Add photo to the bottom layer.
  3. Add any wanted text.

Project 4: To step it up a notch or two to create a 12 x 12 page...
  1. I created a new page and filled with color. (Add square shape, use eyedropper tool to choose color from original page).
  2. I selected a portion of the original page, using the marquee tool, copied and pasted on the left side.
  3. Using the same tool, I selected the rest of the original, copied and pasted it on the right side.
  4. I added shapes and filled with color and then filled with texture.
  5. I added my title and journaling.
Another simple page with a bit of flair!

Project 5: Frame Template
  1. Creating a birthday card or an invitation is as easy and 1-2-3………
  2. Pull up template and add text.
  3. You can send as a single flat sheet or create a card and print this photo on the right hand side for a single fold card. You can use additional paper to create an insert for the card or print directly on the cardstock using the instructions from your printer.

Project 6: Card
  1. Follow instructions with your printer to create a double sided card. I like to print on various fancy papers, linen or photo paper but you can always practice on your plain white copy paper to make sure you have it set up correctly.

There you have it…….a few gentle moments to make your own!
Your assignments if you should decide to accept them:
  1. I will be at the Memories Expo in New Jersey at the midnight crops…….so be sure to stop by and say hello.
  2. Create at least one page about yourself each month.
  3. Create honest pages reflecting your life and not what you think you should create. Be real in your creations.
  4. Hug someone!
  5. Meet me here back here next month.
Until then...happy scrapping!!
Hugs,
Thena
