Artist Spotlight
I'm Janna Wilson from the northwest part of Arkansas. I've been married for nine years and have two beautiful daughters, Sara (5) and Abby (2 1/2). Of course they are the "stars" of my photographs & scrapbooks! This wonderful family of mine is such a blessing and keeps me inspired! My journey to where I am as an artist began when I was very small. I am a "doodler" from way back. In kindergarten, it was tracing the kids feet and making paper thongs for everybody. Then I moved on to doodling on book covers and papers later in school. My mom used to get on to me for "wasting paper" constantly! Well...my years of doodling, drawing and sketching have culminated into a love for many mediums of art. First and foremost...there is scrapbooking. While I kept rather primitive books in school, I started the new wave of scrapping when Sara was born five years ago. At the time, this work at home Mom needed a creative outlet! Starting a scrapbook album of all the precious "firsts" was just the beginning of many opportunities for me. I have been teaching scrapbook classes and freelance designing for about two years. I am currently working as a designer with GracefulBee.com, JewelCraft, and now pcCrafter! I've also had several scrapbook pages featured in major publications including a Creating Keepsakes Idea Book, Memory Makers magazine, Ivy Cottage and Gracefulbee.com's Memories to Capture monthly publication.
My other hobbies include photography, "computering" and sewing. I love creating anything! I have just ventured into the world of digital photography and I love this because the possibilities are ENDLESS when pairing a camara and Photoshop software together...I am truly amazed by technology. My future goals are to finish my degree in Graphic Design after my girls are in school and hopefully do some traveling and teaching at large scale conventions.
Scrapbooking is such a wonderful thing whether you're a new mom, a teen or a grandmother. One of the most valuable things that I personally have gained from the hobby is making several new friends that I treasure. Its also a great way to enjoy some fun experiences with old friends!
