Baby Buggies Creatable

SUPPLIES:

  • 12 x 12 dark brown cardstock page
  • Gold, white, cream & red cardstock
  • 8 1/2" x 11" velum or transparent tracing paper
  • 1 ½ yds, thin hemp or jute
  • Cutter Bee scissors
  • Regular glue stick & hot glue
  • Black button
  • Heart hole punch
  • Decorative edge scissors
  • Fine line black pen
  • Green fine tipped marker

INSTRUCTIONS:

Note: All measurements are approximates

  1. Cut gold cardstock with decorative scissors 8" x 11". Cut red cardstock with decorative scissors 4" x 11".
  2. Open publishing program & Baby Buggies. Size "Lady Bugs" to 9 3/4" tall (top of head to bottom of jar, not including antenna). Print on vellum paper for translucent look, or use white paper. Trim picture, removing grass & antennas.
  3. Size same jar to 3" wide. Crop out the lady bugs and top of jar lid. Now size "Lid" to be slightly larger than top of jar. Copy & paste 2 sets onto one page. Print on white cardstock. (I printed everything separately, then cut and glued the lids to the jars in my layout. But you may want to do this in your publishing program.) Trim all pieces.
  4. NOTE: to save cardstock, set up all your pieces that use the same color on one page in your publishing program and print together.

  5. For tag: Size "Bug Buddies 02" same size as the bugs on top of the jar. Print on white cardstock. Trim very close to edges, removing antennas. Glue to gold cardstock and trim so about 1/4" of gold shows, and leaving room at the top for the heart hole punch. Punch heart, draw on small antenna with black pen. Set tag aside.
  6. Size "Needs Some" (words) so that each word is 1" tall. Size "Flower & Bug" so that ladybug measures about ½". Crop out flower and paste 5 of these lady bugs on the page. Print on cream cardstock. Trim around each word, leaving a bit of cream showing. Trim bugs, removing legs & antennas.
  7. Assemble scrapbook page with red cardstock under the gold. When everything is arranged how you like it, glue in place. Add tiny ladybugs to jars and draw on all antennas with black pen & grass around jar with marker. Add black dots around jar bottom.
  8. Fold hemp in half and put loop through tag, drawing up ends through the loop to secure. Lay tag on page and hot glue hemp to top corner (just a dot of glue), leaving about 8" hanging down and enough hemp at top to tie bow. Tie ends into bow and hot glue button to center of bow.
  9. Idea: If you want, glue pictures or other buggies "inside" (underneath) the vellum jar!
