Artist Spotlight
A Day in the Life of Susan Seals. . .
How does your day begin?
My day begins by trying to get this old body running and warmed up in the morning. (Some mornings this could take quite awhile.) I get my children's needs met, do housework, errands and get life taken care of and out of the way. And then I get to work on art if there is any time left.
My husband died of cancer 6 years ago and so I am a single Mom with two wonderful children - Mike age 13 and Morgan age 8. My life is hectic as a single Mom but I am grateful to be able to do artwork in between the busyness to help support my little family and stay home with them.
What are some of your creative habits?
I don't know if they are considered habits but I have always enjoyed doing anything with my hands. Sewing, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, sculpting, crafting, etc. are just a few of the creative things that I enjoy.
What other art related jobs do you do?
I do a lot of freelance artwork and some artwork for a local publishing company. pcCrafter is really my favorite company to do artwork for. The people are outstanding, they treat their artists wonderfully and it really makes doing artwork for them enjoyable.
What are your future plans?
My future is all about my children and to be the best Mom I can be to them. they are my present and future and are what makes life living for me. Without them I would be lost. And then, anytime I can fit artwork or creativity in between children and life it's a bonus. My two greatest loves, my children and my artwork.
Final thoughts?
I love my God given talent and the joy it can bring to people. Satisfaction and success for me is when someone is happy and pleased by seeing, receiving and using my artwork.
