While reading an article recently, I was moved not by the politics of the war in Iraq, but by the loneliness our young men and women are facing, far from home, many for the first time. Many, are not receiving regular mail which only increases their loneliness; hearing from people back home, even those they don't know, means a lot to them. So moved by this article, I started a card writing campaign at work and church called, the "Thank a Soldier project". Those that I’ve enlisted are writing short notes of thanks to our soldiers in cards I designed using some wonderful HugBug graphics. My goal is to send out 100 in time for the 4th of July and I think that goal will be met!! Special thanks for Debbie Mumm’s Glory Glory, and Kate Merkley’s Happy Birthday USA creatables!
