Butterscotch Brownies in a Jar

Instructions:  
Step 1.

Prep: just add wet ingredients to dry mixture from jar.

Step 2.

Recipe: Layer the following ingredients into the jar:

 
½ cup of brown sugar
¾ cup of white flower
½ cup of chopped almonds
½ cup of brown sugar
½ cup of coconut (green food coloring added the night before and allowed moisture to evaporate)
¾ cup of butterscotch chips
Step 3.
Add a tag to the jar that lists the following wet ingredients:
 
¼ cup of shortening
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 large egg
Step 4.

Baking Instructions: Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom and sides of square pan, 8x8x2 inches with shortening. Melt shortening in 1 1/2 –quart saucepan over low heat; remove from heat. Stir in vanilla and egg, then stir in remaining ingredients and spread into greased pan. Bake 25 minutes. Cool slightly in pan on wire rack. Cut into about 2 –inch squares while warm. Makes 16 brownies.
