Instructions:
Step 1.

Open design program, copy and paste background image (I used Water Stripe from Backgrounds creatable). Size image to 7 ½ inches wide then crop the height to the same height. Next add blue border 1/8 inch wide. This will be the back cover. Copy and Paste this image onto a new document for Front cover. Copy and paste desired bug images and compose title.

Step 2.

Print both covers and trim to 8 ½” . Place cover over paper back of fun foam and trace the edge of cover and trim foam. Peel paper backing on foam sheet and place cover over foam. Now trim foam/card stock to even edges. This is easily done on the Dahle trimmer, just cut foam side up.

Step 3.

Place each cover upside down (foam side up) and place a ruler about a half-inch from holes. Gently score foam with exacta knife but don’t cut card stock front.

Step 4.
Next open coloring page template in design program and copy and paste desired black and white images. Add text to illustrate picture if desired. Print all the pages desired. Also make an opening page with child’s name. Trim pages.
Step 5.
Take all coloring pages and punch holes carefully. Place a page over covers, centering and with a pencil mark holes and punch.
Step 6.
Place all cover and pages together and clamp with a bulldog clip , this is to hold in place with stitching. To stitch:
1. Thread needle with a length of yarn about 5 times the height of your book
2. Stitch up through a middle hole leaving a five inch tail of yarn to tie off
3. Stitch down through the next hole towards to top of the book, and around the spine and back down through the same hole
4. Keep doing this until you are at the top of the book then come down stitch on the opposite side that was stitched going up.
5. Do the same all the way down to the bottom of to book and then back to the middle hole. Tie the ends into a knot and dab the knot with a small amount of glue.
Step 7.
Lastly take twenty inches of each yarn and thread with needle and stitch through the next to the top hole, tie yarns and knot. Thread yarn through daisy buttons and dab knot with glue.
