Email Usage - Part Two: Taking advantage of HugClub WebStuff

Each month in the HugClub we receive new WebStuff: stationery, ebanners and etags. Each of these have a different purpose. Lets go over each of these so that we can learn the best way to use them.

etags are a smaller image that you can use to insert into your email as part of your signature. Or just to add a cute saying. Import an etag into your creating program, such as PrintMaster and use a text box to add your name to it. Then save it to a folder you have set up for your email. (Remember to use your “Save As” option so you always have the original!) Then just close your email with a cute etag!

Stationery comes in 2 different folders: Stationery and eml Stationery. Eml is basically an email file. It is already set as an email file. By double clicking it will open up into your default email program. If you have several emails to send, just open several of the eml files and they will be waiting for you on your task bar. The files in the Stationery folder are jpg images. You would need to insert them into your email on your own.

To insert in Netscape you would go to Format/Page Properties and then insert the image as a background. In Outlook you go to Tools/Options/Compose to set it up as your own stationery. In AOL open a new mail and click on the Camera on the tool bar. Then choose Background Image. Each of these will place the Stationery Image as a background allowing you to type over it rather then around it.

We have the same basic options with banners. We have both the banner folder and the eml banner folder. You can set up the banners in the same manner as I explained above. Or the easiest way is to use the eml banner folder. To make it even easier for me to use I created a folder on my desktop called Email. Then I copied both the eml stationery and eml banner folders into this new folder. Then when I need to use one I just go into this Email folder and into my eml banner folder and choose the one I want. It opens an email that is ready for me to type in and send. It can't get easier then that!

Hopefully this helps you utilize the options that you have with HugClub WebStuff. Using your WebStuff makes your emails cute and fun. Your friends will enjoy receiving your mail and will even ask how they can liven up their email! Plus as a bonus, when they Klick over from your ebanner to the HugClub and sign up, you get paid. You are sending email anyway, why not get paid for it.

Have fun!
